Home Grown Bruschetta
From garden to Saturday football munchie!
We take a few steps out back to “grocery shop” from our garden for this delicious appetizer.
One of my favorite appetizers to make is bruschetta. It is easy and so flavorful! My husband loves tomatoes, so I knew this year I would have to stock our new garden with his favorites! He is hesitant to try new things, but when I included garlic bread, I knew I could hook him. Now it has become a staple in our house.
Bruschetta Recipe
Ingredients:
3 tomatoes, scoop seeds out and chop
Fresh Basil leaves, I use a lot because I love the flavor
Minced garlic, 3 cloves
Extra virgin olive oil, light drizzle
Salt & pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS:
Begin by cutting the tomatoes in half to scoop out seeds then dice.
Finely chop the basil and mince the garlic to mix all together in a serving bowl.
Drizzle olive oil and add salt and pepper to taste.
Ready to serve!
I serve this with garlic bread, but you can serve it with crackers or bagel chips. First slice down a crusty baguette, smear butter and add garlic salt with dry basil leaves. I lightly broil for about 2min or until golden brown.
Perfection!
