Island Life Is the Best Life

Close your eyes, imagine sitting on a beautiful catamaran in the middle of the purest blue water you’ve ever seen, that is what my day was like on Monday, March 25th.

My husband Jacob and I joined his family and friends on a trip to St. Maarten this week. A new island we’ve never explored to cross off the bucket list? Heck yes!

We first arrived on Friday, with his parents and stayed at a beautiful spot called Divi Little Bay Beach Resort. Divi Bay sits right between the bay and the ocean. Out our back balcony, we overlooked the bay and watched the cruise ships come in and out our front door, we could walk out to the ocean and the gorgeous white sand beaches.

The rest of our crew arrived Saturday, where we moved locations to meet up with friends a family right next to the airport…. Yes, THAT airport. I know you’ve seen videos or pictures, but they do not do it justice. We sat at Sunset Bar and Grill watched plane after plane fly right over top of us, felt like they were close enough to touch. And with each plane there was a new group of people hanging on to the fence that reads DANGER DO NOT STAND. Well… we did not experience it for ourselves (I’m a firm believer in listening to large signs that say danger) but we did unfortunately witness countless hats and towels get blown far from shore.

Yesterday, was what the group referred to as “Boat Day” and let me tell you it lived up to the hype! We took a boat out for the day with three stops at different islands around St. Maarten. The crew was called the Fun Seekers, fun play on the boat name Sunseeker, and they were incredible! We snorkeled, paddle boarded, and laid on a huge floating mat laughing and creating new unforgettable memories. All I can say is that island life is for me.

Now, it’s onto Austin on Friday to celebrate one of my best girls last fling before the ring!
